This is the film that started it all. During the summer between Roy’s junior and senior years in college, he was hired by Wilding Picture Productions (at that time the largest film production company in the world) as assistant cameraman on a high budget film for Weyerhaeuser. His first job was to find a way to film Deer eating newly planted seedlings. They didn’t tell him that they had a person trying to figure out how to do that for several months. Roy came back to the film office later that day – not only with ‘how to do it’ but all the arrangements made to do it. He was immediately elevated to Assistant Director – at 21, the youngest ever with Wilding.
